Learning outcomes
Conoscenze
L’obiettivo formativo che si propone il corso è organizzare ed orientare in un coerente quadro conoscitivo i principali strumenti teorici e tecnici su cui si fonda il progetto di architettura, tendenti alla costruzione logica e intellegibile del processo formale. L’architettura è vista quindi come scienza (e quindi con un apparato teorico condiviso e trasmissibile, che ha il proprio centro nella forma e nella costruzione) e come arte (e quindi come un insieme di tecniche che hanno oggetto obiettivi formali). Al termine del processo formativo lo studente dovrà aver raggiunto le seguente competenze: Comprensione della creazione formale come processo; Lettura di un progetto di architettura sviluppato dalla scala urbana a quella esecutiva; Produzione della documentazione (grafica, infografica, testuale, modellistica) richiesta da un progetto di architettura alle scale indicate; Conoscenza critica delle principali tendenze del Novecento.
Knowledge
The training objective proposed by the course is to organize and guide the main theoretical and technical tools on which the architectural project is based in a coherent cognitive framework, tending to the logical and intelligible construction of the formal process. Architecture is therefore seen as a science (and therefore with a shared and transmissible theoretical apparatus, which has its center in form and construction) and as art (and therefore as a set of techniques that have formal objectives). At the end of the training process the student must have achieved the following skills: Understanding of formal creation as a process; Reading of an architectural project developed from the urban to the executive scale; Production of the documentation (graphics, infographics, textual, modeling) required by an architectural project at the indicated scales; Critical knowledge of the main trends of the twentieth century.
Modalità di verifica delle conoscenze
Workshop (singolo): - 1 CD contenente files word, dwg, jpeg, pdf - 1 presentazione ppt. La mancata consegna del workshop alla data dell’esame non permette di sostenere l’esame. L’esame verterà sulla discussione e valutazione del workshop, in una prova scritta e in una prova orale.
Elaborazione dei disegni (piante, sezioni, prospetti, esplosi etc. nelle scale richieste) inerenti una casa unifamiliare le cui caratteristiche saranno comunicate durante il corso:
Assessment criteria of knowledge
Workshop (single): A3 with texts in ITA / ENG - 1 ppt presentation. Failure to deliver the workshop on the date of the exam does not allow you to take the exam. The exam will focus on the discussion and evaluation of the workshop, in a written test and in an oral test.
Elaboration of drawings (plans, sections, elevations, exploded views etc. in the required stairs) concerning a single-family house whose characteristics will be communicated during the course:
1 single-material and single-color model in scale 1.50

Il corso è educazione all’architettura tramite l’esame e la lettura di edifici esistenti. Il tutto attraverso lezioni, interventi critici, presentazione di casi studio esemplari.
Teaching methods
The course is intended to be an the education to architecture through the exam and critical reading of existing buildings. And this through lecturers, critical speeches, presentation of study cases.
Programma (contenuti dell'insegnamento)
Il corso è costruito sull’intersezione tra lo specifico teorico disciplinare - che consideriamo una caratteristica dell’ingegneria e dell’architettura italiana - e il learning-by-doing della pratica laboratoriale, che di fatto itera la prassi professionale. Il corso si articola dunque in lezioni frontali di carattere teorico e/o applicativo e workshops (esercizi progettuali da svolgersi in aula). Il corso è concepito come un grande contenitore nel quale vengono organizzati liberamente i singoli contributi del personale del corso, di docenti esterni e conferenze e il lavoro in aula sulle esercitazioni proposte (workshops). Tali esercitazioni, unitamente alla conoscenza degli argomenti trattati nelle lezioni frontali, sono l’oggetto di valutazioni che andranno a comporre il voto finale
Syllabus
The course is built on the intersection between the specific disciplinary theory - which we consider a characteristic of Italian engineering and architecture - and the learning-by-doing of laboratory practice, which in fact iterates professional practice. The course is therefore divided into lectures of a theoretical and / or applicative nature and workshops (design exercises to be carried out in the classroom). The course is conceived as a large container in which the individual contributions of the course staff, external teachers and conferences and the classroom work on the proposed exercises (workshops) are freely organized. These exercises, together with the knowledge of the topics covered in the lectures, are the subject of assessments that will make up the final grade

Istruzioni ed informazioni per Student stranieri Erasmus. Il docente è disponibile a fornire materiale didattico, ricevimenti e supporto sia in lingua italiana che in lingua inglese. Le lezioni sono in lingua italiana, tuttavia il docente è disponibile a fornire approfondimenti in lingua inglese ancne durante le lezioni ordinarie se richieste dallo studente. Le modalità di esame per gli studenti Erasmus saranno concordate con lo studente stesso. Nonostante che l'esame sia orale, il docente è disponibile a preparare un test a risposta multipla che sarà svolto dallo studente e commentato insieme al professore durante l'esame stesso.
Notes
Instructions for the Erasmus Incoming Students The Teacher can provide teaching material, individual teaching speech and other educational support both in litalian and in english. All the academc lessons are in Italian. The teacher can provide clarifications and further insigh of the topic in english even during the standard lessons if the attending student needs od them. Assessment Modes: The assessment modes for the Erasmus Student can be agreed with the teacher. Although the assessment is oral, the teacher is available to prepare a written test with multiple choices for the student coming from another institutition. The answers givne by the student will be orally discussed at the end of the test. Vi consiglio di scrivere le istruzioni in doppia lingua perché gli studenti Spagnoli, talvolta preferisco leggere le istruzioni in italiano. Spero che aderiate a questa iniziativa di cui sono promotore come CAI e sono a disposizione per chiarimenti, suggerimenti e critiche.
